MARINE SECTION

Ship management consists of the activities below:
- Operations Department
The Marine Operations Department is responsible for the management, running, chartering and hiring of all maritime aspects.
- Technical Department
Responsible for ensuring that the vessel is repaired, maintained and kept fully operational from a technical point of view.
- Crewing Department
Responsible for ensuring that the vessel is efficiently and effectively manned with fully qualified and experienced seafarers in accordance with the relevant STCW & Flag Administration requirements.
- Supply Department
Responsible for coordinating the supply of spares, engine stores, lubes and deck stores to the vessel.

Our Company represents the NATIONAL SHIPPING ADJUSTERS (NASHA), a leading authority in safety certification.  We are authorized to conduct statutory surveys and certification on behalf of the Government of Panama,Belize and Cook Islands.


MARINE TECHNICAL INVESTIGATIONS & CONSULTING

STRUCTURAL DESIGN & ANALYSIS

We specialize in design and analysis of structures through the use of analytical methods, Rules and Standards and the Finite Element method (FEM). We study the mechanical, wear and thermal properties of structures made by metallic (steel, aluminum, titanium, etc.), composite (Carbon fiber reinforced plastics –CFRP, Glass fiber reinforced plastics- GFRP) and textiles (e.g. aramid fiber reinforced elastomer matrices). SALVAGE – DEEP WATER ENGINEERING

Monitoring of damaged ships, in terms of stability, residual structural strength, technical works on wreckages, surveying and inspections of wreckages, etc.

RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT

We specialize in design and analysis of composite (CFRP and GFRP) and metallic structures for the marine, offshore and underwater sector. Our services include design and structural analysis of structures using engineering disciplines, standards and regulations and Finite Element Analysis. Our experience and portfolio is enriched by industry collaborations as well as with participation in R&D projects both domestic and European,. We are participating in projects, regarding CFRP pressure vessels for CGH2 storage (National), and laser welding methods and automation (LASHARE, EU FP7).The staff of ALSMARINE have participated in EU projects concerning pipeline engineering and defect assessment and hydrogen related effects on pipeline steels (NATURALHY), materials and methods for salvage in ships (SUSY), composite structures for the aerospace industry (MOJO), alternate materials for ship building and retrofitting (MOSAIC).

ALS MARINE CONSULTANTS is currently participating in the EU FP7 project LASHARE “Innovative laser applications in manufacturing” Grant agreement No: 609046, in the Laser Equipment Assessment 7 (LEA7) “MOBILLAS”, Mobile high-tech laser material processing system.
